Central Police University (CPU), in collaboration with the Taiwan Society of Forensic Science (TAFS), successfully concluded the “2026 Winter CSI Forensic Science Experience Camp” with a closing ceremony held on February 5, 2026. The ceremony was presided over by President Ming-Chao Huang, who personally welcomed distinguished guests and extended his care to participants and their families. In his remarks, he encouraged students to transform the inspiration and energy gained during the camp into motivation for self-exploration and the pursuit of their aspirations.

During the five-day program, participants engaged in systematic instruction and hands-on training, acquiring fundamental skills in crime scene investigation and forensic laboratory techniques. Through direct participation in forensic procedures, students strengthened the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application. The curriculum also featured simulated criminal case scenarios that emphasized scientific methodology and logical reasoning. In addition, artificial intelligence (AI) applications in forensic science—such as image recognition, data analysis, and evidence comparison—were incorporated to enhance participants’ ability to reconstruct crime scenes and conduct evidence-based investigations.

At the conclusion of the program, participants worked in teams to complete forensic reports, reconstruct crime scenarios, and present their findings during the closing ceremony. Outstanding teams were awarded the “Holmes Gold Award.” The camp also included simulated shooting range exercises and police tactical training, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse and professional nature of police work.

Throughout the program, participants progressed from initial unfamiliarity and adjustment challenges to active engagement and confident self-expression, demonstrating clear learning growth and development. A special “Time Capsule Mailbox” activity was arranged during the closing ceremony, encouraging students to write letters to their future selves as a commitment to continuous improvement and personal fulfillment. This camp marked its 15th session. Since its inception in 2015, CPU has organized 15 high school student camps and 5 teacher camps, with a total of 2,210 high school students and 258 teachers participating. In addition, 590 instructors and teaching assistants have contributed to the program, reflecting substantial achievements in education and training. We will continue to organize experiential education initiatives of this kind, further strengthening practice-oriented teaching, fostering the positive development of young students, and demonstrating CPU’s distinctive integration of academic and professional training, as well as its commitment to social responsibility.
